Training His Mate is a very well done erotic story. The plot idea is intriguing – a heroine learning who she is and what she not only wants – but needs – from a sternly dominant male. The dynamic of the relationship between Astrid and Darghon is compelling. It unfolds amidst harsh punishment and humiliation, with Astrid discovering that she can find pleasure within the pain given by her trainer, Darghon. There are some intense moments, but they always feel true to what the two protagonists are going through while advancing the story.
