Eira is an 11th century viking who finds herself suddenly in 21st century Scotland. Police officer Finn Olsen discovers a lone figure of a woman as he is riding his Kawasaki motorbike and avoids hitting her just in time. Eira, not knowing why this strange alien looking man is chasing her, pulls out a dagger to defend herself but Finn overpowers her and gets the knife away from Eira.
As Finn learns that Eira speaks a language he is unfamiliar with, Eira was afraid of Finn in his motorcycle helmet so their beginnings are strained by fear and language barriers. Finn contacts his cousin Brenna as she knows many languages and studies anthropology, she figures out what Eira is trying to express with her strange dialect.
There are very strange happenings going on as Finn searches through Eira’s belongings of ancient and modern objects.
Finn takes complete control and care of Eira as they search for answers once they discover Eira was the bride of Audun who was killed by unknown people in her 11th century land.
I really enjoyed this and was giggling during the over the top, Audun The Magnificent image lol. I hope we get to see more of this type of book from Ashe Barker, it was a lot of fun, entertaining and sexy content while also giving us a mystery to solve for a great ending.

Ashe Barker has written another great novel, this is completely different from the rest, and i must say she has done a wonderful job. I like all sorts of genre and this book had me smiling at the different twists and turns that came about.
The characters are very lovable and it makes you wonder if there will be another book coming as a follow up.
Without any spoilers, this book is about Eira, its been two years since her husband has died, she needs to get away from the new chief, so she takes a stroll down the beach where she finds a few items of interest, on returning home she falls and hits her head on some rocks.
Finn is a police officer on his way home he spots Eira walking about and takes her home, unfortunately he cant understand a word of what she says. So he puts her in the cells thinking she will soon spill who she is, but Finn soon has to call his sister just to interrupt what she is saying.
This is Eira and Finn’s story, a story of time travel, spankings and not forgetting love and Intrigue.

I absolutely loved this book. It pulled me in from the first page. I just kept reading from page to page non-stop there was never a lull or stopping point in the book until I read the last page and I still wanted more . I don’t usually like to read time travel books but the way this book was wrote drew me in from the beginning. The characters were well developed and very interesting and likeable. There was plenty of suspense and steamy sexy times. I believe that this is the best book that I have read by this author . I voluntarily read an arc of this book and I would definitely recommend it.
